Mohera Jomidar Bari(মহেরা জমিদার বাড়ী) has several main buildings. Chowdhury Lodge(চৌধুরী লজ). The Mohera Jomidar Bari (Tangail) Palace is one of the most beautiful royal and well maintained royal complexes in #Bangladesh. At present, Mohera Jomidar Bari operated and maintained by the Bangladesh Police and also used as the police training centre and mini police Museum.

The Mohera Palace is one of the most beautiful royal and well maintained royal complexes in Bangladesh. Mohera Jamidar Bari was founded by Kali Charan Shahagong and, at present operated and maintained by the Bangladesh Police. The beautiful buildings of the Mohera palace like Chowdhury Lodge, Ananda Lodge, Moharaj Lodge, Kalichoron Lodge and others are architectured well.

A big sized lagoon named Bisakha Sagor encircled by coconut trees is very pretty to look at and boating options are there. Inside there is one more pond with a hut in middle. Beautiful gardens, fountains, playground, a small zoo, pavements and the cleanliness will gratify you.

The Mohera Palace is around 78km from Dhaka in the district of Tangail and the ticket for entrance is 50 taka. There is a canteen available at Mohera Police Training Center and parking also available.

This palace has four main buildings including the main Jamindar mansion. Choudhury Lodge is the first building if you enter through the main gate. Its a pink coloured building having Roman/Greek styled pillars at the front side. The rich ornate building is having corrugated at the roof from inside. Its a two-storeyed building having a garden in front of it. This building is beautiful from the back side too. A playground is also there.

Ananda lodge is the most stylish building in the premise. This building has a touch of white and blue. It has eight columns in front of the building. Most attractive part of the building is the small hanging balcony on the second floor. This building has a lovely garden at the front side. Moharaj Lodge is a pink coloured building having the Byzantine design. Similar to other buildings, it is a two-storeyed building having a nice garden at the front side. A tennis court is at his back. The Moharaj Lodge and the Ananda Lodge are adjoining. Kalichoron Lodge was built during the last portion of the Jomidari Era. It has more rooms than other lodges. The architecture of the building is somewhat similar to the colonial era buildings. There are other buildings named as Kachari Bhobon, Nayeb Bhobon, Rani Bhobon etc. Also, you'll find several large ponds around the premise. Those are named as Bishaka Shagor, Poshra Shagor etc.

It is one of the most visited tourist attraction in Tangail district. There are three main buildings and two ponds. recently a reformation was done there. This beautiful palace is located in the Tangail district. It was once the residence of the local nominees of British tax collectors. It is truly a beautiful place but the colour pink really ruined it for me.

How to Go:

1) A bus from Mohakhali(মহাখালী) terminal of Dhaka will take you near to the Jomidar Palace. Best available bus services are Dhaleswari(ধলেশ্বরী) Service, Jhotika(ঝটিকা) Service, etc. These are the direct bus for Tangail(টাঙ্গাইল). Ask the bus to drop you at Natia Para(নাটিয়া পারা). This stoppage is just after the Pakulla of Mirzapur(পাকুল্লা, মির্জাপুর). GPS coordinate of Natia Para(নাটিয়া পারা) is (24°10'24.32"N, 90° 1'1.49"E).

2. From the Natia Para(নাটিয়া পারা) bazaar, you can take CNG auto, Tempo, Rickshaw, etc to reach the Mohera Police Training Center, where the Jomidar bari(মহেরা জমিদার) exist. GPS coordinate of the Mohera Jomidar Bari(মহেরা জমিদার বাড়ী) is (24° 9'44.49"N, 90° 2'31.99"E).


You can use your own vehicle for the short trip. If you do so, that case turn right from the Dhaka-Tangail highway at GPS point(24° 9'52.55"N, 90° 1'3.01"E).
